Humanity Care Relief is striving hard in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir to empower women from poor families. We are helping them learn the art of sewing through our 17 sewing schools across Azad Kashmir and Punjab.

Poor girls and widows learn sewing skills free of charge, so they can support their families.

Every 6 months over 300 girls graduate from our sewing schools.

Upon leaving sewing school, we gift each girl a sewing machine which she use to start earning and hopefully one day help her family come out of poverty.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Humanity Care Relief receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. Why Sponsor a Sewing Machine?

We are one of the very few charities, which is operating 17 sewing schools in Azad Kashmir and Punjab. Our sewing schools have helped women from poorer backgrounds earn their living by sewing clothes.

We are now raising funds to provide 600 girls and widows with sewing machines.

Each machine cost £100.

£100 is nothing for us living in the West but this £100 could provide a woman with an opportunity to bring her family out of poverty for good.

Building a sewing school is an act of Sadaqah Jariyah – a continuous charitable act.
