Help a Family Setup a Business

Humanity Care Relief strongly believes in empowering people. Empowerment gives these people a chance to become financially independent. As part of our empowerment project, we have helped many young females by buying them sewing machines. These sewing machines will not only help them sew their own and family’s clothes.

As well as helping these young females, we also help families set up their own small business. Over the last few years, we have helped families in Pakistan setup small corner shop from the front room of their house and helped two families buy rickshaw to earn their living.

You can become part of this exciting project. Donate now to help a family come out of poverty circle.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Humanity Care Relief to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Humanity Care Relief we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Humanity Care Relief to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Humanity Care Relief will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Humanity Care Relief receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Sewing Schools Project

Help women from poorer backgrounds earn their living by sewing clothes. By learning this skill these women will be able to earn income to help their families. In this day and age, this skill can be very useful. With the increase of industrialisation, companies are always looking for people with skills like sewing, cutting, and embroidery. Our sewing centres will teach all these skills to these women.

Why Sponsor a Sewing Machine?

To us here in the UK, a sewing machine is merely for alternation and mending of clothes. However, for women in the poorer communities, this provides a life-line for their families.

A sewing machine is one of the simplest yet one of the most effective resources to get a family out of poverty. Using this sewing machine, these women can not only sew their own clothes rather they can offer this service to the wider community and earn extra income for their struggling household.

Help us Erase Poverty Through this Project

Our sewing schools are set up to empower women from Pakistan and Kashmir to earn living from home by starting up their own tailoring business. This project has the potential to bring hundreds of families out of poverty.

As well as teaching sewing skills, our sewing schools also provide training about basic business practices such as pricing, time management, and customer care.

Just £100 can provide one woman with a sewing machine and the opportunity to start her own debt-free sewing business. Donate whatever you can and help women and girls come out of poverty.

Costs Involved in the Project

  • Setting up of sewing school with 10 machines: £1,500
  • Running cost of the school (rent, utilities, materials): £100 per month
  • Sponsoring of a Machine: £100
